Twelve Broward County Families Win at IMACS Rafffle
IMACS distributes $1,250 in Scholarships
BROWARD COUNTY, FL - December 18, 2006
“Wow, we never win anything!” was the refrain heard most often at Saturday’s raffle at the Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science (IMACS).
Kerry Farlie, 9, who enrolled in IMACS’ Mathematics Enrichment program after completing a week of IMACS Summer Camp, won the grand prize – a $500 IMACS scholarship. Kerry is the daughter of Stacey Farlie of Fort Lauderdale and a fourth grader at Pine Crest School.
Eric Siegel, 11, won a $250 IMACS Scholarship. Eric, the son of Michael and Joan Siegel of Cooper City, has attended IMACS since the 1st grade and is currently in 6th grade at Pioneer Middle School. Eric completed IMACS’ primary and upper-level Mathematics Enrichment classes and is now learning computer programming in IMACS’ Computer Enrichment course.
Ten other IMACS families each won $50 towards their IMACS tuition: Sarah and Ryan Ashiqueali, Andrew Blake, John Carroll, Mike Dornetshuber, Jennifer Dray, Maya Hedrick, Jared and Cayla John, Alexis Sobel, Justin Swain and Lisa Wan.
These lucky prize winners attend classes at several of IMACS’ many South Florida locations, including Plantation, Weston, Coconut Creek, Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines.
