Sweet Onion Creations’ efforts to reduce its carbon footprint include purchasing Green Tags, which are renewable energy credits generated using Montana wind farms. Each Green Tag purchased offsets 1,400 lbs. of carbon pollution. These are applied against Sweet Onion’s electrical use and the carbon output from shipping architecture models around the country. Every Sweet Onion project includes a minimum of one Green Tag. Additionally, the company supports green building practices through its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Discount Program, where any architecture model, computer rendering, or presentation website used as a tool going for the US Green Building Council’s LEED certification is automatically eligible for a 10% discount.
