Copenhagen, Denmark — November 8, 2007
Velorbis showcases a series of product development initiatives in its 2008 product catalogue, adding several exciting new models to their bicycle portfolio in the process.
Velorbis have moved production to Germany and Sweden and as a result can offer reduced lead times and ‘best in class’ components and accessories. These include world-renowned brands such as SRAM drum brakes and dynamo hubs, Brooks® luxury leather accessories and ‘Fat Frank’ balloon tyres by Schwalbe.
Highlights of the catalogue include:
The Legend – Churchill Classic: The Churchill Classic reflects the sturdy muscular contours of the male physique. It’s a heroic bicycle fit for a gentleman – timeless, reliable and rugged. This traditional vintage cycle can typically be used as part of your everyday life – convenience, durability and reliability is emphasised throughout all elements of the design.
Pump my ride – Churchill Balloon: A truly robust bicycle and hand-built in Sweden; Churchill Balloon is ideal for whenever a simple and hard wearing bicycle is needed. The rims are built by the famous Dutch company Van Schothorst and are the highest quality on the market. The spokes have received extra reinforcements to make the bicycles compatible with heavy loads.
One fine lady – Victoria Classic: Victoria, the classic Ladies model takes its curvilinear shape from the subtle, smooth lines of the female form. Designed to be ultra convenient, durable and reliable, this majestic bicycle is the true Queen of the road.
Blonds have more fun…Scrap Deluxe: The brand new Scrap Deluxe gents bicycle will certainly turn a few heads, particularly with its blond ‘Fat Frank’ balloon tyres from Schwalbe. The unique distressed finish is combined with luxurious Brooks® leather handles and Brooks® leather saddle to ensure the perfect ride.
Get back to work! – Short John: Short John is a special edition work bicycle that comes with a dynamo light, SRAM drum brakes and optional Brooks® luxury leather accessories. Hand built in Sweden to the highest quality criteria; Short John is great for promotion, delivery service or for those occasions when only a really heavy-duty bicycle is required.

QUOTES
“We put our heart and soul into all of our bicycles – every component or design feature has been well considered for its functionality, compatibility and overall aesthetic,” says Velorbis managing director Kenneth Bødiker.
“To us, a bicycle is not just something to get about on; it’s also a piece of art and a statement about who you are. It reflects your personality. We are looking forward to the challenges ahead and being at the forefront of new developments, which is why we continue to link up with other innovators and crafts people in the design field – we are all devoted to beautiful bicycles.”
About Velorbis
Velorbis was born from the hunt for a desirable bicycle to use in London as an alternative to public transport after the London bombings in 2005. The founders - a Dane and a Swede living in London - brought up with sit-up-and-beg style bicycles, couldn’t find what they were looking for and therefore decided to design their own.
Velorbis has an exclusive new concept store in Copenhagen, Denmark to cater for their growing popularity in the Scandinavian market. They also plan to extend their network of concept stores in other major European cities in the near future. Velorbis are currently expanding their worldwide retailer base with a focus on markets such as Scandinavia, the UK, Germany, Holland, Spain, the US, Canada and Australia.
