Bartronics incorporates second wholly owned subsidiary abroad

Bartronics India Limited announces incorporation of wholly owned subsidiary Bartronics America Inc in the US. The BIL’s foray into the US comes after it recently incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore recently.

Hyderabad, November 24, 2007: In a major foray in the United States market, Bartronics India Limited (BIL), today announced incorporation of its second wholly owned subsidiary—Bartronics America Inc. in the U.S.

Bartronics, the end-to-end solutions provider in the automatic identification & data capture (AIDC), has further plans to acquire other existing companies in the USA to give a fillip to its US foray.

“The trend of global acquisitions by Indian companies has been reinforced by BIL’s latest endeavour. The US incorporation is part of Bartronics vision to expand its horizon and target USA, being the largest market for AIDC technology industries”, said Mr. Sudhir Rao, Managing Director, Bartronics India Limited. “A separate management team will attempt to replicate the highly successful business model of BIL in the USA.” he added

BIL’s venture in the USA assumes significance in the backdrop of US being a technology hot-bed for the AIDC technologies industry. Also, USA happens to be a relatively mature Radio Frequency Based Identification (RFID) market offering immense potential for providing services by Bartronics. A recent market research study has reiterated USA as the largest market for RFID based solutions.

The BIL’s foray into the US comes after it recently incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore recently.

In addition, Bartronics has embarked on an Rs 270 crores expansion plan for manufacturing of smart cards in India.

For the half-year ended September 2007, Bartronics had declared a sales turnover of Rs 93 crores with a net profit in excess of Rs 17 crores.

Bartronics has its operations in India, Middle East, Sri Lanka and South East Asia with a customer base of over 1600.
