BAIA LAUNCHES ONLINE NETWORK TO STRENGTHEN BUSINESS TIES BETWEEN CALIFORNIA AND ITALY

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 13, 2007

The Business Association Italy America (BAIA) is launching the Business Networking Engine (BNE), the first online collaborative tool to bring together the business communities operating in California and Italy, with a special emphasis on bridging the knowledge and contacts gap between the technology and investor communities. BNE is designed on a social network platform to bring the San Francisco-based BAIA Network online and to promote an open exchange of business contacts, stimulate networking and foster user driven innovation. BNE users will have direct access to other individuals, companies and associations in the BAIA Network. BNE will permit aggregating information and business networking across a variety of industry sectors.

“BAIA’s Business Networking Engine brings together the BAIA Network communities in Italy and California,” said Michele Ursino, BAIA co-founder and director of technology . “While BAIA already has an established following in Italy and the United States, BNE users can now take advantage of a broader database of contacts to identify more business opportunities and get in direct contact with each other, wherever they are located.”

Franco Folini, a BAIA board member, is scheduled to unveil BNE on December 13, 2007 at BAIA’s special event, From Leonardo to Web 2.0: Celebrating Italian Culture, Beauty and Inventiveness at the Metreon in San Francisco. Supported by the Friends of FAI (the Italian National Trust) and endorsed by the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC), the event will provide a unique opportunity for BAIA members, friends and guests to uncover and nurture new business relationships.
