Waiving Jobs Fees To Help The Economy
JobKite.com, a national job board, waives it’s $245 per posting fee to help struggling companies survive the ‘recession’.
April 16, 2008
Due to the economical state of the Country and the hardship many businesses are facing today JobKite, a major national job board and search engine, has decided to waive their $245 per job posting fee until further notice. "We feel a better approach during these difficult times is to ask for a donation for our services. This gives the hiring company the unique ability to decide how much they can afford based on their individual financial circumstances." says Heather Galler, CEO JobKite, Inc.
"As a small business, we intimately understand the issues other businesses are facing today. The last thing we want to do during difficult times is to try to sell sell sell to other companies in the same financial boat as we are. That’s called beating a dead horse. We’d much rather say here’s our service, it’s valuable and ready for you to use at whatever your company can afford. Small companies especially need professional tools to thrive and grow without taking on financial hardship to run their business operations," added Galler. "As a small business itself, JobKite has the ability to respond quickly to a changing market - and to focus on the particular needs of other businesses." So far the response has been tremendous with job postings rapidly coming in with donations of all amounts.

About JobKite:
8 years ago, without the first clue how to operate a computer, let alone run an internet company, Heather Galler, her younger brother Scott Glasgow, and their mother Linda James started JobKite. It was a very different world back then as far as the internet goes, there weren’t as many avenues to find new jobs online, and especially difficult to find specific industry job boards. So back in 2001 Heather Galler was self-employed as a medical recruiter trying to help her Step Dad, Hal, relocate to Florida and find a much better paying job. What baffled Heather was that he was earning a relatively low salary - despite having worked at the same place for four years, and a nationwide shortage of skilled Histology Tech’s. Hal clearly had the skills, but lacked the job-specific resources to help him find better opportunities in his field. Thus was born the idea of JobKite and the first site launched, HistologyJobs.com.
Heather and her family formed a business – she would be the CEO, her brother would build the websites, her mother would do the accounts and as of this year, her sister would work in sales. Starting from such humble beginnings the new company was built on nothing more than their time and dedicated effort, and many many mistakes along the way. Without ever borrowing a cent the company relied upon determination and desire to succeed along with a strong family bond, that only strengthened further as the years went by. Being a family run business, they all worked from their separate home offices in NY, FL, and NC. This also gave them the opportunity to work surrounded by their pets and children, who would get lonely without them – especially the dogs, who are silly and would probably eat the couch if left alone.
Today, JobKite owns JobKite.com, a National job site, as well as operates over ninety niche job sites that are particular to location or industry, and runs twenty-seven industry specific directories – including listings for wedding vendors, plastic surgeons, realtors and B&B’s. What started as a family business is continually growing into a great success story. JobKite’s mission is to use all the latest technology, lighthearted content and community to help job seekers find what they are looking for. The founders of JobKite are honorable people, who have worked hard to make the business what it is today. Whilst not college educated, they have used determination and a strong work ethic to make success for themselves. They have built a business that has given hundreds of thousands of people the resources to find better jobs, salaries and hopefully find true happiness in what they do.
