South Loop Neigbors.org announces Photo Show 2008 Living History
South Loop Neighbors (SLN) invites entries to its Ninth Photo Show. This is a juried exhibition of photographs that exemplify what makes this neighborhood great. As a non-profit membership-based organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and preserving the area landmarks, we are supporting the photographer’s view of this world with the wish to create an event and documentation for the future.
Prizes: Grand Prize$ 500; First Prize $250; Second Prize $100

- Subject Matter: Photos should illustrate life in the South Loop (boundaries of Jackson to 16th Street, the Chicago River to the Lake). Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges with the criteria of artistic expression, technical merit, and how the image documents the landscape of the neighborhood.
- Format: Photos should be finished prints, no larger than 14 inches by 16 inches. Please do not mat or frame your work.

Entry Fees: Adults: $30 for first entry and $10 for each additional entry (limit 2 additional) SNL Members, Seniors and Students $20 for the first entry and $10 each for up to 2 additional entries. Students must name their institution.

Deadline: Photos must be delivered, accompanied by an entry form and payment by 6:00 PM July 15 to the Chicago Community Bank, Dearborn Station, 47 W. Polk,

Notification: Winners will be announced at the reception for the exhibition on Friday August 15, at 6:30 PM. All are encouraged to come and enjoy the show and refreshments as we announce the prize winners.

Exhibit: The prize winning photos and selected works of finalists will be displayed August 2 to September 2 at the Chicago Community Bank in the Dearborn Station. Additional exhibits are being considered in the neighborhood with return of the entry prints in December 2008.
